Will a child outgrow stuttering?

Some children develop stuttering between the ages of 2-5 years. This often happens when the child articulators cannot keep up with a sudden acquired language as children may still not be physically able to produce all the sounds they want to say. As the child grows and practices their speech they will often outgrow their stutter. Some children may not outgrow their stutter and continue to stutter.  With a continuing sutter it is important for parents to seek services from a speech language pathologist.
