Office Expansion Complete
Written by: Anna Pasternak / SLP / February 2020
For those of you who have been coming into the downtown main location in the last few months, you may have noticed some big changes going around in the clinic. We have recently been going through an office expansion for the last few months. Renovations began in December and after a long couple of months of hard work, we are finally pleased to offer three new office spaces for our wonderful clients to enjoy.
The new offices are spacious and set up beautifully to offer the best atmosphere for our clients to appreciate and feel comfortable in. I (Anna) have moved to one of the newly renovated offices at the end of the hall. I have had a few clients looking for me in my old office since then, so just to give everyone a heads up that I will no longer be in my old office across from our wonderful DoS’s desk.
With the new offices being freshly painted and brand new floors installed we ask that clients be courteous of our ‘no outdoor shoe’ policy to help maintain the cleanliness and avoid wear on the new floors with all the salt coming in from outside. Not only does this help maintain our clinic but shows mindfulness of others. Most people do remove their shoes when they come in and we thank you for that! But, there have been times where clients have not removed their shoes and dragged water, dirt and salt through the office. Then, clients who have removed their shoes end up stepping in the wet puddles that have been created and end up having wet socks… which I know is one of the most annoying feelings to have. I feel horrible when this happens, and often have to spend a few minutes cleaning the floors after the session. So please be courteous and REMOVE YOUR SHOES!
Currently our other two new office spaces are being used by our amazing UoT student clinicians. Students clinicians will be leading sessions in their offices until their placement is complete. We are very happy to be able to offer them this personal office to build their independence and confidence. Once the spaces open up, as unfortunately we cannot keep our wonderful students forever, the clinic will be looking to hire more clinicians to join the team. Well Said will be hiring a couple of new Speech Language Pathologists over the next few months. We are very excited and cannot wait to expand our team.
As many of our current clinicians’ schedules fill up fairly quickly it is sometimes hard for clients to book on preferred days or times as clinicians book up fairly quickly due to high demands. Once we hire new clinicians we will be able to offer clients more available slots that may work better with their schedule. We are currently looking for clinicians that will best fit our clinic, team and be able to offer their expertise to the best of their ability for our clients to benefit from. So keep a lookout for some new faces that you may notice around the clinic in the next coming months!
We are very thrilled and appreciate all the hard work that has been done in the last few months, to provide more space for both clinicians and clients to appreciate during sessions. We also look forward to meeting our new team members in the near future which we know will only better and strengthen our clinic and team.
We hope you enjoy the new space as much as we do!

This blog post was inspired by a recent session I had with a client who wanted to spend a session figuring out how to best navigate an upcoming holiday work party they were attending the following week. I realized that many of the tips I used for general networking were easily applicable to the annual holiday party, which in some instances may be the only chance you get to interact with colleagues in a different context and manner.
